Bogdanow Partners was hired to renovate the last abandoned buildings in Soho, 42-44 and 46-50 Wooster Street, restoring the original landmarked facades, cornices and architectural details of both buildings. Additionally, set-back penthouses were added to both buildings. A major structural change was designed for Number 46-50, where a 5-story atrium was carved from the structurally flawed central bays. This created terraces at the fifth and sixth floors and at the west side of the atrium and balconies at all other lofts. This plan is respectful of the historic cast-iron district in which the buildings are located but it will also provide an unusual and delightful amenity in the penthouses and interior atrium.
