At the corner of Park Avenue and 56th Street in the Swissotel, renowned Parisian gourmet retailer Fauchon has established a New York City flagship store. Bogdanow interpreted the Parisian design for the United States, which means, in this case, a cleaner, lighter version of the luxurious French interior.
High quality materials and craftsmanship, however, are still apparent in stunning custom casework, including the central display kiosk and the tea wall with its whimsical curliques. A lovely tea room adjacent to the shop serves breakfast in the morning and high tea in the afternoon.z |
